Georgist Registry Annual ReportArden Georgist GildThe Arden Georgist Gild continues to offer classes, lectures, films, and Georgist events in Arden, Delaware.
In January, 2008, The Georgist Gild taught classes on Henry George's Protection or Free Trade, taught by Rodney Jester.
Every year Georgists volunteer to cook for the Arden Community Dinner (for 145 people) and we cooked a special Valentine's Day dinner.
Then we started Classes on Progress and Poverty, taught by Mike Curtis, from February - April 2008,
We had guest speakers in March 2008 with an informal talk and discussion by Bill Baldwin on "An Alternative to Political Rule of World Nations." In May 2008, Ed Dodson gave a lecture on "2010 Economic Crisis: The Impending Depression." Ed is a former Analyst with the Federal National Mortgage Association FNMA and Past President of the Henry George School of Social Science in New York.
In April 2008, thirty students were presented with certificates for completion of the classes in Progress and Poverty with Mike Curtis and Protection or Free Trade with Rodney Jester.
Twenty five students visited Arden from the Henry George School in Philadelphia after completing their classes in June. They had an introduction to Arden by Rodney Jester and a walking tour and visit to the Arden Craft Shop Museum
A class on "The Science of Political Economy," based on the writings by Henry George, was taught by Rodney Jester and Bob DeNigris in October-December, 2008.
The Georgist Gild held its Annual Holiday Open House on December 12, 2008.
From January 20 to March 24, 2009, Mike Curtis gave a Seminar on Progress and Poverty.
This past June, thirty students came once again to visit Arden from the Henry George School in Philadelphia after this year's classes, with an introduction to Arden by Bob DeNigris and a walking tour of the village and visit to the Arden Craft Shop Museum.
Lindy Davies came and filmed a class on Georgist Economics in July 2009 for a series of videos planned for the Henry George Institute's web site.
