Public Revenue Education Council

In 2008 we had an Exhibit / Information Booth at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in New Orleans. In 2009 we will to at the NCSL in Philadelphia with a larger booth and a full crew of Philadelphia Georgist to provide LVT information and answer questions for state legislators and their staffs.

The LVT study in East St. Louis by the Institute of Urban Research at the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville is progressing smoothly and is being updated with current assessments. Data is being produced to run models to present to scholars and government official. Will bring what information is available to the Council of Georgist Conference in Cleveland.

We continue to present information to the Missouri General Assembly's Joint Committee on Tax Policy. The committee is currently focused on Tax Credits and not thinking much about real estate taxes.

We mail Georgist literature to city, county and state government officials who appear to show some interest in LVT.

Don Killoren does LVT studies of properties in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County. Don has also written a six-page pamphlet called "Libertarians united for the elimination of counterproductive taxation."

We sent out a letter seeking funds to continue our efforts and received a small response. We are a struggling group and not attracting new members.
