Our Hotel

Will be the Howard Johnsons Plaza. Rooms are $72/night + tax, including a continental breakfast, for up to four occupants, if you identify yourself as a CGO conference attendee when you book by June 15. Call Howard Johnsons Plaza - KCI, 816-268-1600 (not toll-free). You may also register for a hotel room with your conference registration, but the room registration must still be received by June 15. Neither rooms nor prices are guaranteed after that date.

Amenities include outdoor pool voice mail, coffee makers, irons & ironing boards, and free shuttle service. Restaurants and shopping malls are about two miles away, and available by free shuttle. If you want help finding someone to share a hotel room, contact Sue Walton (below) by May 31.

Conference Package

The full package includes all sessions, including Wednesday evening reception, Friday Afternoon Bus Tour, Thursday & Saturday lunches, coffee breaks, Saturday evening gala banquet ; and Sunday morning friendship brunch. Meals include vegetarian selections. Meals cannot be guaranteed to those who register after June 29. There is a 50% cancellation fee after June 24 except for documented medical emergencies.

Getting There

The Howard Johnsons Plaza is at 7301 Tiffany Springs Road, just off Exit 10 of I-29, North of Kansas City and just north of KS 152. From the exit, follow the "HoJo" signs.

From Kansas City International Airport, Call for the Hotel Shuttle.

Amtrak gives conference attendees a 10% discount. Our fare code is:X20Q-922. Contact Amtrak at (800) 872-7245 to get these fares. Train fares are also discounted for those who book early, and get progressively more expensive as seats are filled.

From the Amtrak station take a KCI shuttle to the airport from the Westin Hotel Crown Center which is located across the street. The shuttle from the Westin runs at 10 minutes and 40 minutes after the hour and costs $17 each way. Then take the free Howard Johnsons shuttle from the airport.

Greyhound: If you can get bus service to the Kansas City Amtrak station, you can get to the hotel as listed above. Getting to the hotel from the Kansas City Greyhound station on Troost is less convenient. You would first have to take the number 25 bus to the downtown Marriott and then catch the KCI shuttle from there.
